Dana Saulnier is an illustrator of animals, food, holiday art, patterns and all kinds of fun things. Based outside of Cambridge, Massachusetts, she licenses her artwork to the gift, paper and children’s markets. Her art can be found on invitations, cards, growth charts, journals and more. She illustrated the children’s book, Le Renard et Le Chat (published by Thomas Jeunesse.)
She earned her BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University and started her career as an in-house designer at a giftwrap company. This was her introduction to the world of surface pattern design and she knew she had found her niche. But life threw in some twists and turns. After some time living in New Zealand and then a few years working as a children’s shoe designer, she decided to start her own studio, The Patterned Peacock.
Every day is a picnic when you are with friends! The “Picnic Day Collection” by Dana Saulnier captures a whimsical & fun day with woodland friends, inspiring us to take an adventure. Dana’s first collection for Studio e offers 17 coordinated fabrics, including a 24”x44” panel, a tossed character print, a border stripe, a butterfly print and running yardage blocks. All the prints are created with a summery palette including shades of red, blue, green, brown, tan and cream. Studio e’s Peppered Cottons are the perfect complement to this collection.
