I’m a UK based freelance designer, living in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside.
I've always loved to draw and grew up surrounded by packets of crayons and paints. I spent many an hour colouring on any scrap of paper I could find. Inspired by my Mum, who is also a designer, we were always making things and always had a project on the go.
At school, I took courses in textiles and art and made the decision to pursue my creativity as a career. After studying for a diploma in Art and Design, I graduated from Staffordshire University in 2009 with a first class honor's degree in Surface Pattern Design. I have been working full time as a freelance designer ever since. My degree covered designing for a diverse range of products from wallpaper and fabrics, to artwork and tableware.
Since graduating, I have had designs published on greetings cards, gift bags, wrapping paper, home décor, flags, ceramics and fabrics. I’ve always loved creating repeat designs and designing for fabric allows me to indulge in this. I really enjoy the creative process from the initial idea for a collection and seeing it through to the final design.
I’m really excited to have my first fabric collection for Studio E Fabrics, and look forward to creating new designs. It's always so exciting to see your ideas produced into such lovely products. The novelty of seeing your designs in print never wears off!
In my spare time, I love gardening, crocheting, the odd bit of knitting and sewing. Although I have never attempted quilt making, I constantly find myself buying fat quarters of fabric for the amazing range of lovely colours and prints!
