Working from my home studio, surrounded by woodland and the rural countryside of England, I’m very much influenced by the abundance of wildlife and natural scenery around me.
I have a great affection for fairytales, vintage illustration and the natural world. I grew up with all the great Disney films, Beatrix Potter Books and an over active imagination.
I’ve been fortunate enough to pursue a career in doing what I love best ‘creating stuff.’
After gaining a degree in digital design, I landed my first job a few months later. Although I initially started my career as an art worker and graphic designer, I later found myself designing textiles and creating surface patterns.
After working for various companies in the party supplies and cosmetics sectors, I made the decision to become a freelancer and have been since 2012. Although this doesn’t come without its challenges, I’m so glad I decided to take the leap.
I’ve recently become a mum and I get so much joy from my daughter and feel so connected with my childhood again. I can’t help but be inspired by her and I think this shows in my work.
When I’m not working or looking after my daughter, when the opportunity (rarely) arises, I love craft making and gardening.
